Introduction

Join us on a unique cruise along the Göta Canal, a hand-dug canal between two of the country’s largest cities. Having organised cruises on small but exclusive boats for more than 130 years, this cruise company knows how to give you an unforgettable experience. On this 4-day cruise, you will pass one river, three canals, eight lakes, 66 locks, and travel on two seas.

Itinerary

Prepare for a boat trip focusing on pleasure, experience, relaxation and friendship. You will spend lots of time socialising, as there is neither radio nor TV on board. During time ashore and overnight stops, you’ll have the opportunity to go on guided tours to some of the foremost sights Sweden can offer. A short list could include Läckö Castle, Vadstena Cloister, Motala Motor Museum and the Birka Viking City. Should you wish to exercise your legs while exploring and experiencing the canal surroundings on your own, you can borrow one of the boat’s comfortable bicycles.

Built in 1874, Juno is the oldest boat with sleeping cabins still in regular service; our youngest, Diana, was built in 1931. Most of the cosy, small cabins are fitted with bunk beds and a washbasin, and are about the size of a standard sleeping compartment on a train. Bathroom facilities are nearby.

The ship’s guide holds daily information meetings in three languages (Swedish, English and German) to let you know what is going to happen during the day, tell you the history of the canal and the local sites and to provide practical information. The guide is available throughout the cruise and even leads some of the shore trips.

Meals are taken in the mahogany-and-brass dining room. The menu at lunch and dinner is fixed, with two courses for lunch and three for dinner. A generous breakfast buffet is served every morning except on departure day. Tradition has it that the guests change in to something a bit more elegant for dinner, but going so far as a dark suit is not essential. Sportily elegant is quite enough.

Enjoy an unforgettable holiday with us on this unique boat ride.
