Introduction

Cosmopolitan coolness and fresh ocean breezes: it’s the best of both worlds in this exciting 6-day girls’ getaway! Spend some time in Stockholm chilling with the ladies at the famous ICEBAR and checking out the capital’s trendy nightclubs and cafes. Of course, there’s also plenty of time for leisurely excursions, pampering, and fine cuisine in the medieval town of Visby on the beautiful, historic island of Gotland.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cool Welcome Drinks at the ICEBAR
On arrival to Arlanda Airport, you will be greeted by a local representative and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Stockholm. If you arrive early, we recommend getting the Stockholm Card, which gives you access to most museums in Stockholm as well as the city’s transit system.

In the evening, you and the girls will be chilling at the capital city’s coolest bar—the ABSOLUT ICEBAR STOCKHOLM. Here in the world’s first permanent ice bar the temperature is -5°C year round, and the entire interior—including the drink glasses—is made from 100% pure, clear ice from the Torne River in Swedish Lapland. After enjoying your complementary iced vodka drinks, why not explore the rest of the city’s many hip cafes, restaurants, and nightclubs?

Day 2: Ferry to Gotland
Today, a bus ride takes you to the scenic port town of Nynäshamn, where you will board the ferry for a 3-hour ride to the island of Gotland and the old hanseatic town of Visby. After arriving and checking in to your centrally located hotel, spend the rest of the day exploring the town as you wish. Visby, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its numerous medieval buildings and ruins surrounded by the 13th century Ringmuren (“Ring Wall”), measuring 3.4 kilometres long and 11 metres high! Spend the next three nights in Visby.

Day 3: Biking Like a Viking & Swedish Massage

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then pick up your rental bikes for an exhilarating ride around Visby and the surrounding areas. There are plenty of attractions in the area, including the botanical garden, Visborgs castle ruins, the city wall, and Fiskargränd (“Fish Alley”), a picture-perfect promenade lined with rose bushes.

Optional: For more adventurous types, we recommend taking a slightly longer route to the Lummelunda cave, an underground world with exciting caverns, beautiful dripstones, and interesting fossils. Visit the entrance of the cave and admire nature’s own works of art, or take part in a guided cave excursion into the innermost parts of the cave.

After such an action-packed day you deserve a little pampering, so you will be treated to a 30-minute classic Swedish massage at one of the town’s top spas.

Day 4: Explore Gotland
Today, the sky is the limit! One option for nature lovers is to rent a car and drive to Lojsta hed moorland, an area known for its special breed of pony. The Gotland Pony is the only remaining breed of domestic Swedish pony and it has been classified as an endangered breed by the European Union. On the way to the moorland you can visit Tofta beach and its remarkable sand dunes, the most famous of Gotland’s beaches. Here you can try different beach activities or perhaps join in a traditional Swedish after-beach party. In the evening, enjoy one of many fine restaurants, bars, or nightclubs that Visby has to offer.

Day 5: One Last Blast in Stockholm
After a wonderfully relaxing experience on the island, depart from Gotland with the ferry and take the bus to central Stockholm, where you will spend one last night. Make the most of this final evening in Sweden by heading to the city’s trendiest neighborhoods for a fabulous dinner and perhaps a bit of dancing.

Day 6: Goodbye, Girls!
When it’s time to head home after this memorable holiday, take the Arlanda Express from central Stockholm to Arlanda Airport. Passengers departing on an afternoon flight will have a bit of time in the morning to visit the old town or do some last minute shopping at some of Stockholm’s trendy boutiques.
