Introduction

Satisfy your inner Arctic explorer with this short yet action-packed getaway in Sweden’s rugged Lapland region! Learn to “mush” with your your own team of huskies through the pristine forests and spend a night in a rustic wilderness cabin far from the city lights and modern stresses. This tour also gives you a chance to witness the remarkable northern lights with an optional snowmobile tour and a visit to the world-famous ICEHOTEL with the option of an overnight in an ice room.

Itinerary

Day 1: Into the Wild!
Your adventurous holiday begins at Kiruna Airport, where your guide awaits to greet you and drive you to the husky kennel in Ojnakka. Here, you are provided with weather-appropriate outerwear for your overnight dog-sledding excursion. After a basic lesson at the kennel, you have full control of the reins and the journey begins through the breathtaking Arctic scenery of Swedish Lapland!

Arrive to the campsite in the afternoon and reward your hungry canine helpers for a hard day’s work. Meanwhile, the equally hungry and hard-working sled drivers get to gather inside a cosy cabin for a traditional Lappish dinner. Finally, head to your room in one of the rustic cabins for a good night’s sleep before tomorrow’s adventures!

Day 2: More "Mushing" and the ICEHOTEL
In the morning, both you and your husky companions are served a hearty breakfast in preparation for the 30 minutes journey over the plains and through the woods back to the husky kennel. After saying goodbye to your four-legged friends and your trusty tour guide, transportation is provided to your accommodation for the night, Hotel Kebne (or similar) in central Kiruna.

From Kiruna, your next stop is to the ICEHOTEL and Ice Church in nearby Jukkasjärvi to enjoy a guided tour of this fascinating hotel and its history. Every winter, this famous landmark is rebuilt by artists from all over the world using snow and chunks of ice from the Torne River. The ICEHOTEL, famous for its unique concept and dazzling works of art, features the chic ICEBAR along with an unparalleled assortment of rooms and suites for over 100 guests. After the tour, transportation is provided back to your hotel.

Optional activities:
Option 1: Overnight at the ICEHOTEL
An overnight at the ICEHOTEL is like being in a winter fairytale! Snuggle up on top of soft reindeer skins on a bed made of snow and ice. The temperature inside the hotel is around -5°C to -8°C, but no worries, you will have your own thermal sleeping bag to keep you cosy. In the morning, wake up a cup of hot traditional lingonberry juice served at your bedside and then enjoy a hearty breakfast in the restaurant followed by a soothing trip to the sauna.

Option 2: Northern Lights Snowmobile Safari
Take a journey into the wilderness to search for the dazzling northern lights with a guided snowmobile trip! After a delicious dinner in a wilderness hut, return to the trail for the journey back to your warm hotel in Kiruna.
* Please note that the northern lights (aurora borealis) are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Day 3: Departure

Today it’s time to say goodbye to Lapland and return home with wonderful memories of your adventures! Transportation is provided to Kiruna Airport in time for your departure flight.
