Day 1: Arrival/Stockholm
On arrival, you’ll be met by your private chauffeur, who will transfer you from the airport to your luxury hotel in Stockholm. After settling in at the hotel, you will be taken on a private guided tour of Stockholm to give you a taste of what the capital of Sweden has to offer in terms of art and design, culture, shopping and gourmet dining.
Day 2: Stockholm Archipelago
Today you will be taken on a private boat adventure into the stunning archipelago of Stockholm. This is the true summer paradise for the locals, with clear waters and beautiful small islands; there will be plenty of opportunities for swimming and taking walks in the picturesque surroundings.
Day 3: Castles and Manor Houses
After breakfast, your driver/guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you on a wonderful two-day tour of the Swedish countryside. You will drive west to the pretty town of Mariefred, by Lake Mälaren. Here you’ll visit the 16th century Gripsholm Castle, with its well-preserved interiors from different epochs; it also houses a large art exhibition. Stay the night in this area, famous for its many castles and manor houses.
Day 4: Viking Rock Carving and Eskilstuna
One of the highlights today is the Sigurd rock carving, made 1,000 years ago. Also see the Fiholm Castle, which was never finished: only two wings were built. In Eskilstuna you’ll also find the 17th century Rademacher blacksmith community. After a delicious lunch at the Sundbyholm Castle, you’ll slowly return to Stockholm.
Day 5: Gotland
Take an exciting day tour with a domestic flight to Gotland, Sweden’s largest island. Here you’ll find medieval architecture and fantastic natural wonders. Visby, the main town on the island, proudly presents medieval buildings and ruins surrounded by a 13th-century city wall, 34 kilometres long and 11 metres high! Your private local guide for the day will show you the historic sites and take you to some of the astonishing nature attractions that Gotland has to offer. Fly back to Stockholm in the late afternoon and enjoy a gourmet dinner at one of Stockholm’s finest restaurants.
