From medieval fortresses to modern art and Viking ships to scenic railways, this comprehensive tour takes you on a thrilling journey by land and sea through modern Scandinavian kingdoms and their lively capital cities, home to some of Europe’s oldest monarchies. Come with us and explore such world-famous attractions as Stockholm’s Royal Castle and City Hall, Copenhagen’s Christiansborg Palace and Tivoli Gardens, and Oslo’s Viking Ship Museum and majestic Oslo Fjord.
Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to the capital of Sweden
Your holiday begins at Stockholm Arlanda Airport where we await to greet you and escort you to your hotel in the heart of Sweden’s remarkable capital. For those who arrive early, we recommend buying the Stockholm Card, which offers free admission to 75 museums and free travel on Stockholm’s public transit system. Suggested attractions include the Vasa Ship Museum or City Hall’s famous Blue Hall, site of the annual Nobel Prize banquet. Spend the night in Stockholm.
Day 2: Scenic Railway Journey to Denmark
After breakfast, it’s time to board the train for Copenhagen. Enjoy the scenery of Southern Sweden as you envision the exciting activities that await you in Denmark! Once you’ve arrived and settled in at your hotel in Copenhagen’s centre, we recommend a stroll down the famous “Ströget” street for some world-class shopping or a bite to eat at one of its many cafes and restaurants. Spend the night in Copenhagen.
Day 3: Classic Copenhagen & Cruise to Norway
Copenhagen is home to such marvels as the Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Palace, the old harbour of Nyhavn, the famous Little Mermaid statue, and much more. You can also spend the day at Tivoli Gardens, one of the world’s oldest amusement parks and among the city’s most famous attractions. By late afternoon it’s time to board the ship to Oslo, which cruises gently up the Kattegat Sund on its way to Norway’s capital city. Take part in the dancing and entertainment on board or just relax and watch the sunset from the deck. Spend the night in one of the ship’s cosy cabins.
Day 4: Up the Fjord to Exciting Oslo
Today is yours to explore Oslo after arriving early to port in the scenic Oslo fjord. From your hotel conveniently located in the heart of the city, you have easy access to many of Oslo’s top attractions. We recommend a visit to the Holmenkollen Ski Museum and Jump Tower, the Viking Ship Museum, Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Royal Palace, Akershus Fortress, or the historic Arctic expedition ship “Fram”. Spend the night in Oslo.
Day 5: Norway to Sweden by Train
Today you will be boarding the return train to Stockholm in the afternoon. The evening is free to enjoy Stockholm’s electrifying nightlife from your centrally-located hotel. Spend the night in Stockholm.
Day 6: Stockholm and Departure
Travelers departing on the afternoon flight have the chance for some last-minute shopping, a visit to a museum, or a relaxing visit to a local café before heading home. Transportation to Arlanda Airport is provided by Arlanda Express train.

Comfort

Booking
Our Travel Consultants can assist you with booking air travel to Stockholm-Arlanda Airport.
Advanced booking of at least three weeks prior to departure is recommended.
Extra nights can be added by request; contact us for details (Recommended extra nights: Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo).
Special payment information
For packages that include train travel, flights, cruises or overnights at an ice/snow hotel, we require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total price at the time of booking. (See details of payment terms in our booking terms and conditions.) This is because these services carry stricter than usual cancellation rules, and Nordic Visitor cannot refund any of those services booked through us.
