Day 1: Arrival/Stockholm
This tour starts at Arlanda airport, where you are met and transferred to your accommodation in the heart of Stockholm. If you arrive early, we recommend getting the Stockholm Card, which gives you access to most museums in Stockholm, the Stockholm underground and local buses. Stay the night in Stockholm.

Day 2: Stockholm – Grythyttans Gästgivaregård
Drive west from Stockholm (leaving Mariefred and Gripsholm Castle for your last day). Visit the 17th-century blacksmith community in Eskilstuna, where the smiths are still busy with their crafting, before heading on towards Örebro and the open-air museum in Wadköping with its beautiful old buildings, craftspeople and shops. From there, drive to Grythyttan, one of the best-known and appreciated restaurants in the country, whose wine cellar is one of Sweden’s largest. Stay the night in the Grythyttan or Filipstad area. Driving distance approx. 310km.

Day 3: Grythyttans Gästgivaregård – Vadstena Kloster
Visit the Finnstigen open-air museum that shows the history of the Finn blacksmiths that lived and worked in the area. Stop in Borenshult by the Göta Canal River and the manually operated Borensberg lock, which is well worth visiting, before heading to the Vadstena Slottshotell restaurant, housed in a castle built in the 12th century. The restaurant has a 700-year-old wine cellar, where you can experience wine tasting in historic settings. Stay the night in Vadstena. Driving distance approx. 200km.

Day 4: Vadstena Kloster – Yxtaholms Slott
See the sights around Vadstena Castle, the Cloister and the little 12th-century town itself. If you want, you can visit the Kolmården International Zoo on the way north. Visit one or more of the area’s many castles and manor houses on your way to Yxtaholm Castle, although it is more of a manor house. The Yxtaholm Castle restaurant creates a different menu every day, based on locally grown produce, to give you a true gastronomic experience. One of the most unique collections of Calvados is to be found here—don’t leave the castle before having a taste! Stay the night in the Flen area. Driving distance approx. 170km.

Day 5: Yxtaholms Slott – Stockholm
Explore the 16th-century Gripsholms Castle, its well-preserved interior from the different époques, as well as the big art exhibition inside. Maybe take a leisure ride on the train, at Mariefred Railroad Museum, dating back to the end of the 19th century. If you still feel like exploring, take a detour to Trosa, with its beautiful archipelago, on your journey back to the capital. Driving distance approx. 130km.

Day 6: Stockholm
Spend the day in the capital, Stockholm. Stockholm can easily be considered one of most beautiful capital cities in the world, with amazing palaces, museums, restaurants and parks. Stockholm is also a very hip destination known for its innovative design, fashion and music scene. Stay the night in Stockholm.

Day 7: Departure
Transfer from Stockholm by Arlanda Express to Arlanda airport. Passengers departing with the afternoon flight will have time for some last-minute shopping, a perfect way to end your holiday.
