Everything planned was wonderful
Hi Irja,
We just returned from our trip and we wanted to tell you thank you! The trip was fantastic. Everything you planned was wonderful. We loved the tours in Kiruna, especially the dog sledding. The ice hotel was amazing and we loved the room you picked for us. The hotels you picked were very nice and we never would have found them on our own. We liked the Hurtigruten and were so happy when we got to see the Northern lights on the deck on the second night. We even enjoyed the bus and train rides because the scenery was so beautiful! The guides in Kiruna were especially nice and helped us locate a piece of luggage we lost while we were on a tour so we could make our train on time afterward. Thanks so much!

Excellent travel consultant
I am very happy with the service received from Nordic Visitor, the pick-ups at airports and hotels really took a lot of stress out of the trip, the travel consultant was excellent and very helpful during the many times I changed the trip beforehand.

Impressed with the quality of service
Hi Klara,
We are back home now having returned from Gothenburg yesterday.
We had a wonderful trip in Stockholm helped by the unusual kindness of the weather gods. Both the excursions were excellent; especially with a good guide/driver who took us through the Viking tour. We felt that it would have a better experience to start with the city tour rather than end our trip with it. The hotel location was very central with excellent facilities. All in all both of us felt that we were well looked after and were very impressed with the quality of service.
Kind regards

It was a very nice trip with Nordic Visitor, and a wonderful experience
Hi Klara
I was very happy with your services, I was picked up at the airport, and we drove to Kiruna, and went through the program of my tour.
Friday - I went to the IceHotel, great sightseeing, I really enjoyed it, what a fantastic place. It would have been even better if I have had the possibility to sleep there.
Friday - I went on the night trip on snowmobile to see the aurora borealis, it was snowy so we didnt see it. Unfortunately we had 3 older ladies in the group who didnt like speed, so the speed was maximum 30-40 km/h because of them, which was kind of boring. I talked to a couple who went on the same trip the day after, and some of them had the opportunity to drive up to 80 km/h. For me it was a dissapointing trip.
Saturday - I went on the Sami tour, which was a great experience, we talked to a nice older Sami-man who was happy to tell alot of the Sami-story. We had a trip on a reindeer sledge, and we got to feed the reindeer. Very níce trip.
Sunday - Was an experience of a lifetime, on the "Musher for a day" I had my own sledge, and we were told how to control it, and how to treat the dogs. It was very hard to stay on the sledge and keeping balance, but I succeeded. We had the opportunity to take some pictures on some of the stops. Breathtaking nature, and on a sledge, it's even better. The lady, who was our guide, was very helpful taking pictures of me and the dogs.
The Hotel Kebne, was fine, the staff were helpful, and the food was nice. The room was a good standard.
Overall it was a very nice trip with Nordic Visitor, and a wonderful experience to visit Kiruna.
Kind Regards

So much more than I expected!
Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciated your help & handling of my Stockholm city break last month - everything was just perfect, in fact, so much more than I expected! I loved the Adlon Hotell (could just live there - charming - and so close by walking to everything) but my favorite portion of the trip was the boat trip to Birka Island - just a lovely late summer day out on the water & the island itself so beautiful and quiet, the Viking burials and the walking tour, etc., all just fascinating. So, thanks again for your assistance with my trip; I have been recommending Nordic Visitor to all!

Thank you for your efforts in organizing our vacation
Dear Cecilia,
Back home! The voyage to Scandinavian countries was really beautiful. We had good weather - maybe too warm for what we expected to be - but absolutely nice. The Hurtigruten cruise was indeed the highlight of this journey - as you said ! Impressive landscape, but also good conditions for accommodation - we think in the future to try also the Arctic offer. Meanwhile, thank you for your efforts in organizing our vacation. All the best, from - a still hot - Bucharest !

Our experience thanks to you was just great.
Hi Cecilia!....... Well, we back and what a great adventure and experience we had. For two 70 year olds we did it and had a great time doing it. Let me start on the next paragraph giving you my synopsis of our trip. I'm sure Doris will send you a separate email giving her experience and thanking you for your efforts.
As you're aware we did the Helsinki leg of the trip without incident and then we were off to Stockholm. As far as Helsinki goes it was a good place to start. The hotel was good but we feel the hotels that followed were much better. However, Doris liked the room in Helsinki the best. As we found in Helsinki and the other cities everyone seemed to be on "Holiday" with their children in tow. However, this was nice to see and experience. Children very well behaved. The boat trip to Stockholm was just unbelievable in Doris' eyes. The Commodore Class room was great. I would recommend it.
After meeting you in Stockholm we were off on the journey of seeing everything we could and most importantly what Doris wanted to see. We had the "On and Off Boat" pass and that seemed to take us to most or near the places we wanted to see. We walked our legs off but that was good for us and we got to see a lot. When we would get lost we would just stop someone and ask them either where we were and how to get to the next stop. We saw the changing of the guard and what a great experience. I took my video camera and got most of the event. Doris will I'm sure tell you how much she enjoyed the Stieg Larsson tour. For me, since I hadn't read any of his books, it was just a walk in Stockholm which I found very interesting. Our first night one of the front desk people recommended a restaurant not far from the hotel. We spent just a little over $200 US and had a great experience. I will comment at this point to say, "the food in Scandinavia isn't cheap" but the experience makes up for it. We found most hotel locations, if not all, very accommodating regarding being located near the places we wanted to see and traveling out of each city. Oh yes, the Ice Bar the last evening was a great experience.
The train ride to Oslo was very nice but the train could have been just a little nicer. No air conditioning and it got hot. However, you could open some of the windows which some people did. We arrived at the Oslo station and proceeded to find a taxi. At the specific location we were there were no taxi's. We stopped a young lady and asked her where the taxi's were. She told us that we didn't want to take a taxi in Oslo because they were most expensive. We showed her the location of our hotel on our map and she proceeded to tell us what but to take and how much it would cost. She then offered to go with us to make sure we got off at the right spot. She went with us and when we got to our hotel she pointed it out and we got off and thanked her ever so much. That in itself speaks very highly of Scandinavian people. I'm sure Doris will expand upon this experience. Overnight and off to Myrdal, Norway to connect with the Flam RR. The train out of Oslo was very nice. When we arrived at the station that morning we asked some ladies in uniform for help and directions. Come to find out one of the ladies husband is in love with Texas and they bought a place not too far from us and will be coming to the area in October but just for a visit and to work on their property. Doris exchanged names and address so that when they are here we can meet them and show them our hospitality. The Flam RR is a great experience. We arrived Flam and went directly to our hotel. Again, great accommodations. We had a nice dinner at the hotel and the next day was not the best. Rain from early morning and along our trip through the Fjords. It was cloudy and rainy all the way to Bergen. We would say that was the worst experience of the trip but no fault to anyone except "Mother Nature".
Our arrival in Bergen was in the rain. We took a taxi to the hotel and at first I was a little upset at our initial experience. However, from there it was one of our best experiences. The room was nice and the food was great. As you so exceptionally did, at each hotel our breakfast meal was included. If this was not to your doing please take the credit anyway. Ha! We always had a big breakfast and then in Bergen our hotel offered a late dinner which was included as well. We both felt like we were gaining weight but not so when I got on the scales this a.m. Again, the weather in Bergen seemed to be not so good regarding rain. We ventured out anyway and took in the local sites. In Bergen they had a free bus which they called the "Blue Bus" which came in handy as we moved about the city. Unfortunately, I caught a cold which slowed me up a bit. Later, thanks to me Doris caught it. Finally, the last day the sun popped out and we got to see Bergen in the sun. Neat city.
Off to Oslo! Leaving Bergen we took the "Blue Bus" from our hotel to a bus stop which was about 200 meters from the train station. The train ride to Oslo was very accommodating. We arrived at the station and again thanks to the young lady who had helped us the first time we were able to take the bus and find our hotel. The following day we were off to see all the sites which Doris had written down. I will let her expand on this part of our trip. Other than a few sites I would say Oslo was not my favorite place along the way. We did it and then we were off to take the boat for Copenhagen. Again, the boat experience was great due to the upgrade accommodations. It was well worth the additional cost.
Not to take anything away from any of the traveled cities, but Copenhagen was the best for me with Stockholm a very close second. Our hotel was great. The location of the hotel was great and everything about the city was a neat experience. I'm sure Doris will tell you about this but when we went to see the changing of the guard our first day out, we went to where it would take place and ventured to the middle of the open area. A man was standing there and I asked him if this was a good place to see the changing of the guard. He point to a place not more than five paces from where we were standing and said that's the place. When it got closer he said stand next to me and the procession will come right by us. As we talked to him we found that he had lived in Copenhagen all his life and was a retired school teacher. He had never married and he cared for his parents in their later years. He was so helpful and gave us more information than we could have ever wanted from a private tour guide. Because of this we offered to take him to lunch which he accepted. He was everything he presented himself to be. A small man in his stature and even shorter than Doris. He walked us after lunch to our hotel area pointing out things along the way. He was a very shy man but was most appreciative of our gesture regarding lunch. What a great experience. My recommendations to people who travel abroad is make conversation if it's just asking a question. The results will prove out great. We walked the famous shopping street and saw all the Mimes along the way. We stopped at a local library where they had a restaurant and ate on two occasions.
Cecilia, our experience thanks to you was just great. Please take our compliments and if you ever need a recommendation, please do not hesitate in giving our name and email address. We had a wonderful time. Our trip home was another experience which I will save to another time.

Every day gave us a new and exciting experience.
It is hard to believe a week has already gone by. We have returned to the real world and a cold Australian winter. Karin and I would like to again thank you for all your work putting together what has been a fantastic and memorable holiday for us. In some ways it has almost been surreal and somewhat magical - especially the wedding that you put on for us!
Briefly looking through my photos, which we will send you in due course (only a small number) every day gave us a new and exciting experience. Everything that you arranged worked out perfectly and certainly it was a holiday of a lifetime! The last night dinner in Mathias Dahlgren was spectacular and we agreed this could be our fortieth wedding anniversary dinner! We will complete the assessment form in due course and return as soon as possible.
Thank you for your advice regarding the souvenier shop, it worked out really well.
Hope you are keeping well,
Again many thanks, kind regards,

We all had a fantastic time
Hi Cecilia,
We arrived home from Lapland last night and I just wanted to let you know that we all had a fantastic time. Lapland Safaris, who took us on the night-time snowmobile safari, dog-sledding adventure and reindeer farm, were excellent, very well organised and friendly. The hotel, Clarion Santa Claus, was very comfortable, terrific breakfast each morning and check-out wasn't until 12 noon on the day we left which was great. All your arrangements and bookings worked very smoothly. Thank you.
Kind regards,

The holiday to Sweden was wonderful
.Everything went very well on our holiday to Sweden. Everyone had more fun that we imagined it would be and everything went pretty much like clockwork. All of the events came off exactly as planned - we did in fact see the northern lights on Friday, the 15th. They were spectacular. I'd like to offer feedback to your organization in the spirit of making this type of holiday better.
The shuttles to and from the airport were prompt and the driver were exceptional. They were knowledgeable and helpful to us. This is a very professional and courteous service.
The Northern light event was exceptional. Our guide was as excited about our adventure as we were. She was extremely knowledgeable and fun to be around. The timing and length of this event was very good.
The dogsled event was also exceptional. The guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. The only bit of feedback that I would offer is that after we were finished with the sledding @ 12:30, our itinerary had a gap until the ICEHOTEL tour at 1600. We visited the old church, had lunch at the ICEHOTEL restaurant and walked through the rooms at the ICEHOTEL looke through the shop at the hotel. I would suggest that you somehow either decrease that gap between events (dogsled and the ICEHOTEL tour) or add to the itinerary a statement recommending we visit the church, have lunch at the restaurant and stroll through the ICEHOTEL at our leisure. It turned out fine for us, but it would eliminate any questions. The ICEHOTEL and its tour were remarkable. What a place!
I wasn't sure how you could top the Northern Lights event, the dog sledding and the ICEHOTEL. But our trip to Kebne Mountain and the Moose safari was amazing. The people who acted as our guides were the nicest people to have met. They were like old friends and really took care of us. They made sure we were warm and had all the time needed to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and wildlife. The food was great, they entertained us with games to increase our knowledge of their culture. You may want to highlight that we will have the opportunity to interact with the Sámi culture and gain an understanding of how they live in the arctic circle. This was a very valuable part of the trip. The Kebne Mountain area is extremely beautiful. Everyone in our party said it was a great way to end our time in the Arctic.
The bus tour in Stockholm was also very good. Our original tour at 10:00 was postponed until 12:00 due to the cold weather causing the audio system to fail. We were able to listen to a real person who could answer questions and interact with the group so this turned out OK. The only bad thing was we had 2 hours to fill and at that point we were not familiar with Stockholm. But all went well as we walked over to the Swedish information center and found plenty to look at.
I would be happy to recommend your tours to anyone. You did a remarkable forward to returning to Sweden some day soon.

I would recommend this tour 100 percent
Hi Cecilia
Thank you for the Christmas Card. We had a fantastic time. The hotel was good the staff were friendly the tour guide fantastic. The food was also delicous. The tours were fun and exciting. We are already talking about next year. The only problem is that we did not have more time to do more activities. We did try snowmobiling. I would recommend this tour 100 percent.

The trip was amazing from the start
Thank you so very much for organizing our recent trip to Sweden. Everything was wonderful! You quickly responded to my numerous emails this spring, answering each question as it came up. It was so nice to meet you in person. The information package re maps, vouchers, etc. was fantastic. In the 10 days that we traveled, we did not have a single problem with anything!! The trip was amazing from the start, at the airport to the finish. This adventure was beyond what I had expected. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Sweden. It truly was "Sweden in a Nutshell".
Again Daniel, thank you for your outstanding professionalism in arranging this trip for us. You have given a group of friends a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Thank you so much for all your help and hard work
Hello all
I really did want to let you all know how much my sister and I enjoyed our holiday last year. We asked you to put together an itinerary that went from coast to coast and thensome, and it was terrific!
We agreed that our favorite lodging was with the Lekanders on Tjorn. They were lovely and friendly (and upgraded us to an apartment) and their place is wonderful. The strawberries were coming in and the homemade preserves were super at breakfast. Tjorn itself and Astol were beautiful.
The south had a whole different feel. Ystad, particularly, reminded me of Germany. (Go figure...Hanseatic league and all.) And the man that (I assume) owns the Anno 1793 Sekelgarden was the quirkiest guy we saw the whole trip. On the way there, following your research, we did find the Lindholmen Borgruin. We also found a sketch of the castle at the museum in Ystad. What a treat!!
We wish we'd had another day in Vadstena. Being there at midsommar didn't allow us to explore and see all that we might have had we been there on a normal day. But...Pensionat Solgarden was wonderful. The Sandbergs were very gracious. Each room is unique. Our breakfast there brought us back to our childhoods. It was super!
Gotland was the gem in the crown. Even three days there did not allow us to go everywhere we wanted. The Baltic was blue and contrasted against the limestone formations. Faro and its sheep...and all the churches. Each one was a surprise.
All along the way we found wonderful museums, pubs, people, water, islands and made memories to last a lifetime. Thank you so much for all your help and hard work. We had a wonderful time, and we both look forward to coming back (I'm doing the North next time!!)
Tack så mycket to all, especially Daniel Champlin and Hannah Hansen.

Nordicvisitor was accommodating to my individual requests.
.When I had a winter vacation coming, I wanted to go somewhere out of the ordinary. When most people plan a mid-winter vacation, they normally plan trips to the sunny warm, climes. I wanted something different. After searching the web, I came across a site called "Nordicvisitor.com". I have never heard of them before, so at first I was leery. After reading through the web site a number of times and discovering a number of excellent winter vacation packages, I finally narrowed my selection to "absolute relaxation in Kiruna", north of the arctic circle. From the time I contacted Nordicvisitor to the time I arrived at the Arlanda airport for my departure from Stockholm, things went smoothly.
When booking, Nordicvisitor was accommodating to my individual requests. I was still uncertain as to how trustworthy this company is so I had them sent my vacation package-tickets, hotel bookings to my home. They did this and then e-mailed me to make sure I received the package. Upon arrival at Arlanda, I was met with by very friendly taxi driver, arranged by Nordic Visitor who took me straight to my hotel. On the way to the hotel, she gave me a run down on Sweden, its history, and its culture. The hotel was conveniently located close to the train station. Since I had to catch the train the next day, that was nice.
I was met at the Kiruna train station by the Kiruna tourist company. He gave me a run down what my schedule is in Kiruna. From the time I arrived in Kiruna, I was allowed a large degree of freedom, which I like, combined with a somewhat flexible schedule. The cabin was very relaxing and peaceful with a well stocked fridge. I was largely left alone for the three days to do what I like. I was worried whether I'd be rested enough to go on the snowmobile tour on the third day. That turned out to be unfounded as the tour was slow, easy going, and completely stress free. I was rather sad that the vacation in Kiruna ended all too soon. I could have stayed there a few more days.

Memories that will last a lifetime
.My sister's and my 17 days in Sweden were the trip of a lifetime. We relied on Nordic Visitor to plan the specifics of our trip based on a general idea of the regions we wanted to visit, and they did that wonderfully. Neither of us had traveled to Scandinavia before, and Daniel and Hannah made everything so easy. Daniel spent a great deal of time with us at our hotel in Stockholm, walking us through the entire itinerary.
Early in our trip-planning, my sister and I found mention online of a castle in Skane that bore our name. We mentioned this to Daniel, who included directions to the ruin (which consists of beautiful pastures) in our itinerary. This was one of the most meaningful parts of our trip for me, and I think for my sister too.
I fully intend to come back to Scandinavia and likely will use Nordic Visitor's services at that time. But even if I don't get back there, I really want to thank them for providing me with memories that will last a lifetime.

They seemed to have thought of everything
.Nordic visitor centre arranged a really enjoyable self-drive tour around the south of Sweden for us. They provided a personalised service, tailoring the tour to our particular requirements. We found them friendly and efficient, even providing us with a mobile phone for local use. They seemed to have thought of everything.
We started and ended our tour in Stockholm. Getting acclimatised to driving on the right, in a left-hand drive car, on unfamiliar busy Stockholm roads was something of a challenge, but the quality of the car exceeded expectation, and more than made up for those hairy moments. Most of the hotel accommodation was very good, and we particularly appreciated those hotels which included an evening meal as part of the price. With the benefit of hindsight, we may have preferred to spend more time in each place and cover less ground. I have no doubt that the Nordic Vistor centre would happily have arranged the tour accordingly, had we asked them to do so. We were given maps and suggestions of sites worthy of a visit.
Some of the scenery in Sweden is stunning, Stockholm is fascinating and cultured, the little towns most picturesque (Ystad probably being our favourite), the glasswork legendary, and castles and museums abound. It was an excellent place to visit for a holiday in June - albeit that we hadn't anticipated freak temperatures above 30 degrees centigrade, and hadn't the right clothes with us! But I guess we can't blame the Nordic Visitor centre for that.
