All of our hotels were much higher quality than we would have booked ourselves. They were wonderful and the breakfasts were fabulous. The personnel were so friendly and often went out of their way to help. We appreciated the markings on the maps. The only bit of complaint we had was that the young man at the car rental did not give very good directions to the car garage. It was hard for my husband to walk that far. We should have called a taxi. The GPS in the car gave good directions. My husband was not used to the gas saving engine shut off and he thought there was something wrong with the car. I presumed it was to save gas, and he finally got used to it. The best part was that we found where my grandparents had lived and were born. Thank you for giving us extra time in the locations where we needed to hunt.
Thanks for all your answers ahead of time and for working out the details. The trip was wonderful and the adventure of a lifetime for our age.

Absolutely! Whether you’re looking for a vibrant city break or romantic countryside retreat, Sweden has all the ingredients for an unforgettable honeymoon.
Indeed, this Scandinavian nation promises to delight you both year-round. For example, in summer imagine strolling hand-in-hand along South Sweden’s beaches and unwinding in the region’s tranquil surroundings. Or, come winter, picture heading north to Swedish Lapland, where a snow-blanketed wonderland is waiting.
What’s more, Sweden is ideally placed for exploring the nearby countries of Norway and Denmark on a Scandinavian honeymoon. So, as well as experiencing the best of Sweden, you could experience even more cool capital cities and marvel at world-famous fjords.
There are plenty of things to see and do on a Sweden honeymoon or romantic trip for two. Some of these are best enjoyed in summer, while others are only possible during winter. Read on to find out what the top recommended activities for couples are in Sweden.
Check out these top things to do during the Swedish summer:
- • Explore Sweden’s top cities to attend cultural events, sample trendy eateries and dip into museums
- • Stroll through Stockholm’s old town (Gamla Stan) and indulge in the tradition of fika
- • Sail the peaceful waters of the Stockholm archipelago on a boat trip
- • Relax in the unspoiled countryside on a Swedish road trip
-
• Discover Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo on a Scandinavian Triangle tour
Here are some of the best things to do in winter in Sweden:
- • Stay in a room carved from ice in the world’s first ever ICEHOTEL

-
• Soak up the beauty and tranquillity of Abisko National Park
Yes, of course! You’ll find that Stockholm, Sweden’s capital city, is home to the country’s prime cultural spots and plenty of chic places to eat. Plus, the city covers 14 islands, so there are lots of romantic waterways and lush parks to explore together.
Each of these islands has something different to offer you both. For example, the Gamla Stan district is a must.
Here you can enjoy visiting some of the city’s top sights, including the Royal Palace and the Nobel Prize Museum. Then you could stroll hand-in-hand through charming cobbled alleyways, stopping to sample delicious cinnamon buns, a local favourite.
And if you’re both art lovers, then you won’t want to miss riding Stockholm’s metro – it’s known as “the world’s longest art gallery”. Meanwhile, photography enthusiasts should head to Södermalm to visit Fotografiska, a photography museum complete with a stylish cocktail bar.
What’s more, you’ll find that Stockholm is ideally placed if you’d like to combine seeing the city sights with time spent in nature.
One of the best ways to see Sweden’s beautiful coastline and some of the archipelago’s 30,000 islands is on a boat tour. Imagine setting sail from the city on a day trip and seeing ancient castles, sweeping beaches and tiny fishing villages for yourself.

Sweden has year-round appeal, so no matter when you choose to travel you’ll make treasured memories. The time of year that’s best for you depends on what you’d like to see and do on your getaway for two.
A summer trip to Sweden is perfect for exploring the blooming countryside together. Just picture yourselves escaping to gorgeous little towns, marvelling at regal palaces and swimming in shimmering lakes.
As well as being a great time for a country retreat, the summer months – May to September – are also ideal for touring Sweden’s cities.
At this time of year, the cosmopolitan capital of Stockholm and the smaller, yet no less hip, cities of Gothenburg and Malmö come alive with cultural events. Plus, the milder weather will let you take advantage of the countless al fresco dining opportunities on offer.
On the other hand, if you’d prefer to travel in winter – from December to March – you could head north on a Swedish Lapland tour. Here you’ll find snug cabins, frozen lakes and dazzling snow-dusted forests.
By day soak up the enchanting snowscapes as you try a winter activity or two. Think dog sledding or snowmobiling with an expert guide. Come evening, you could hunt the northern lights together. Gazing up at the aurora’s colourful displays as they dance across the sky is an experience you’ll both cherish.

Waiting until your accommodation and tour arrangements are finalised means that you can select the flights that work best for your confirmed itinerary. Plus, if you have any questions about making travel arrangements you can ask your dedicated consultant for advice.
The weather in Sweden varies significantly depending on where you go and the time of year that you visit. For instance, in summer you’re likely to experience mild temperatures. But during winter it can be cold and even snowy, particularly if you head north to Lapland.

- Walking boots or shoes with good grip
- Waterproof jacket and trousers
- Woollen or fleece jumpers
- Warm hat, scarf and gloves
- Warm hiking socks
- Rucksack
- Sunglasses
- Swimwear
- Quick-drying travel towel
